Fidani and Hargrove challenge for podium

The AWA racing team traveled to Sebring Florida for the second round of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge. The highly competitive GS class saw 30 GT4 cars battling on the legendary circuit.

With excellent feedback from drivers Scott Hargrove and Orey Fidani the team worked through setup changes getting the 718 Cayman dialed in.

Orey Fidani handled qualifying duties and put down a solid lap to start on the 9th row.

Orey drove a clean opening stint, moving the Cayman up the field before handing off to Scott Hargrove to take it to the end. After final pit stops Scott was on a charge to the front, running in P4 when a front left tire failure brought the hopes of a podium finish to the end.

Door to door action

Team owner and engineer Andrew Wojteczko said “The team executed well this week and it’s unfortunate that the result doesn’t show it. That’s two races and two tire failures that have taken us out of the running. Definitely not the start to the championship we were hoping for but it’s a long season and we can turn this around. Looking forward to Mid Ohio.

Carly Panneton, hard working is an understatement.
